Bulk Mail Permit-30

Effective April 1, 2004, Postal Services will no longer maintain unlimited funds in the Permit 30 Bulk Mail account with the US Postal Service. The account, however, will continue to be maintained in the name of UNC Greensboro by postal services.

Departments may continue to mail at bulk rate, utilizing any of the following three methods:

  1. The mailer can notify you of the dollar amount of postage and you can request a check directly from department funds for that amount made out to:

    Postmaster
    201 North Murrow
    Greensboro, NC 27401-9998

The mailer will then submit the check at the time he takes the bulk mail to the Bulk Mail Center.

  2. The mailer may be willing to write the check and then bill it as part of the invoice, although many mail houses do not normally do this.

  3. The mailer may contact Postal Services (Terry Neal at 334-5620 or fax the information to 256-2588).
We will need the following information:
    a. Department making the mailing and Fund Number
    b. PO number
    c. Date the mailer wants to drop the mail at the BMC and dollar amount.

Postal Services will notify the mailer when money has been deposited. The postage amount will then be processed and billed to the department through the monthly postage statement.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your bulk mailing, please call Terry Neal at 334-5620.
